• Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) an important state higher education institution in the MD and other physicians, is the cultural, scientific and technical center of the MD and Vietnam. Since its founding in 1979, CTUMP has been improving and developing itself. It has an enrollment of about 8.000 undergraduate students; 1000 students postgraduate students.
• CTUMP has got over 657 staff members including nearly 446 teaching staff. From a university with a few fields of study at the beginning, it has developed into a multidisciplinary university. Every year CTUMP receives students on internship programs from the U.S, Belgium, Japan and so on, or under agreements between their universities and CTUMP.

The Faculty of Medicine of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy

• The Faculty of Medicine of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) was established in July 1979 to meet the need of medical education in Mekong Delta. With the desire to constitute and elevate the medical sciences and healthcare system in Mekong area, the Faculty of Medicine has imposed the forefront of health education which enabled the optimism of the healthcare innovation in the region.
• Initially, when there were not enough lecturers, the subjects of basic sciences were taught by lecturers of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy for the first batch of undergraduate medical students.
